Ruixing Active Chinese Centre has taught IB Chinese to international school students in Singapore since 2012, covering Y1 to Y12, from our Bugis centre (116 Middle Road, #05-04 ICB Enterprise House) — about five minutes' walk from Bugis MRT.
Teachers on this programme have over 20 years of local teaching experience and hold the certified qualification for teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and teach bilingually — so when a student's Chinese is not yet enough to frame a question, they can ask in English and get a full answer.
International school students on the IB programme, both heritage and non-heritage learners. The emphasis shifts by year group: in the lower years on making Chinese a language the student can actually use; in the upper years on the IB assessment requirements — oral performance, written analysis and textual understanding.
Physical group classes take a maximum of six students; online group classes on Zoom take up to 20. One-to-one is also available. Group lessons run four times a month, two hours each, materials included.

What are the teachers' backgrounds?
Teachers on our international programmes have over 20 years of local teaching experience and hold the certified qualification for teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and teach bilingually.
My child has no Chinese at all — where do we start?
Start with Hanyu Pinyin. Once pronunciation is solid, every new word after that costs less to learn.
Where do I check the assessment requirements?
Assessment requirements and criteria for each IB Chinese level follow the IBO subject guide for the year, which may be revised — check with your school or the IBO directly.
